Change Media Group (CMG) has crafted, written, designed, and produced creative for more than 100 winning campaigns across America. CMG’s videos and groundbreaking creative have helped Presidents, Governors, Members of Congress, and some of the country's most effective progressive organizations engage communities, persuade people, and turn out voters. These campaigns and victories have delighted viewers and have led to concrete real-world change. CMG seeks highly motivated applicants for employment as an Operations Specialist Intern to become an integral part of our team!

The Operations Specialist Intern will have the opportunity to learn on the job in a flexible, welcoming work environment. This work will include assisting with all functions of the Operations Team, with a focus on reporting, analysis, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable. This position will also assist with HR tasks.

Part or full-time opportunities are available, with schedule flexibility. This position can be remote or hybrid, with the option to work out of our Grand Rapids, MI, Lansing, MI, or Ann Arbor, MI offices. The Operations Specialist Intern will report directly to the Director of Operations. This is a paid position ($15/hour).


  • Learn and collaborate with all functions of our Operations & Finance Team, with a focus on Budgeting and Forecasting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.

  • Assist with Accounts Receivable collections and invoicing tasks with contractors, vendors, and clients

  • Support the Operations Team with human resources and financial administrative tasks

  • Identify opportunities to improve organizational programs and services through reporting and data analysis

  • Assist with special projects, as assigned


  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field

  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets experience required, such as comparing and validating data

  • Superior organizational and time management skills with an ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong desire to learn, with the ability to learn via direct training as well as in a self-guided environment

  • Ability to work across lines of difference and demonstrated cultural competency

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
