Darrin Camilleri ran for State House in Michigan’s 23rd district with organizing experience and a strong drive to improve his community. Unfortunately, his relatively low name ID and a slew of attacks from primary and general election opponents made a strong communications strategy imperative to winning.
We developed an advertising program targeting absentee, independent, and liberal drop-off voters, tailoring the message to each group. We were able to amplify the message the Camilleri campaign delivered at the doors and to combat his opponent’s negative ads by promoting the broad range of endorsements Darrin had received.
Ultimately Darrin’s campaign was successful and was the only Democratic House pick up in the state of Michigan.
