Change Maker Diaries: Campbell Thompson
Today’s Change Maker Diary features our Visual Composer, Campbell! Read on to learn more about Campbell and her work here at CMG:
What is the first thing you did when you woke up this morning?
Well, I woke up and then fell back asleep for 30 minutes, which is pretty normal, but then I did yoga. I’m doing this 30 day yoga challenge, so sometimes I try to squeeze it in the morning when I have class later in the day.
Fun! What’s one thing you never leave home without?
I never leave home without my water bottle. Gotta stay hydrated. Also the water on campus is a little gross, so I like to fill it up before I go.
I see. What is one work related success you’ve had recently?
Well, I think all of the Andy Schor pieces I worked on ended up being pretty successful considering he won his primary, and it was fun to work on.
Yeah I think they worked well too, I liked how they came together! And hopefully the general goes just as well as the primary. What is one work related challenge you’ve had to overcome lately?
Making designs for other people is a challenge in general. Especially when things a client wants contradict or they have ideas that aren’t really feasible.
Agreed. What projects have you worked on here that you’re most proud of?
I loved working on stuff for Randolph Career Tech. Making icons and Facebook graphics was super cool. The whole project was very fun.
That’s one of my favorites too. What is your favorite part of the day? It doesn’t have to be work related.
My favorite part of the day, especially if I wake up at my first alarm is the morning. I like to relax and drink some tea. I like to have time to get ready and not rush around.
Are you a tea drinker and not a coffee drinker?
Yeah, I try not to drink a lot of caffeine or coffee. I never really did before and I never wanted to start so I wouldn’t need it in the morning. I’m trying to hold off as long as possible.
Look at you go! What is your favorite part of your job here at CMG?
Well it’s all really fun!
I love everyone I work with, it’s a great environment with good people, who are super fun to be around. I also love getting to do what I enjoy while getting paid to do it. Getting to design and make things is one of my favorite things to do.
Awesome, okay last question What is your favorite class you are taking this semester?
One of my advertising classes this semester, for the entire class we’re doing a brand makeover. So all semester long we’re just working on one brand. I’m doing the PBS side of WKAR.
I’m super amped about it! We normally don’t work on a full campaign until our capstone, so I’m glad I’m getting to do it now.
